Gary and Robert Allen are experienced businessmen who co-founded LUMA Resources and Allen Brothers Inc. Gary and Robert have been business partners since 1986, when they took over the roofing company their father, Don, started in 1950. Over the past 22 years, they have successfully managed the growth of Allen Brothers Inc. (ABI), excelling in building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with the people with whom they do business. Robert focuses his attention on sales and marketing, Gary on production and training. The two work well together with their individual talents.
ABI has steadily grown sales, remained profitable, and have held together a core team at the management and field levels that has been with the company for an average of fifteen years. Furthermore, between 80 and 90% of the work that ABI does is for repeat customers and customer referrals. This is despite the fact that ABI prices are typically higher than those of other firms. “We run an honest shop, pay our people well, never cut corners, and always deliver quality work. This all cost more but our customers are willing to pay our prices because they trust us,” says Robert.
